Vision:

The Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York, Inc. is a leading organization that creates and supports the promotion of the Hispanic community and its contributions to Western New York’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

Visión:

El Concilio de Herencia Hispana del Oeste de Nueva York, Inc. es una organización líder que crea y apoya la promoción de la comunidad hispana y sus contribuciones al rico patrimonio histórico y cultural del oeste de NY.

Mission:

The mission of the Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York, Inc. is to foster and inspire awareness, understanding, and appreciation of past, present, and future contributions of the Hispanic community in Western New York.

Misión:

La misión del Concilio de Herencia Hispana del Oeste de Nueva York, Inc. es fomentar e inspirar la conciencia, la comprensión y apreciación de las contribuciones  pasadas, presentes y futuras de la comunidad hispana en el oeste de NY.

Goals and Common Priorities

• Preserve the history of Hispanics in Western New York for future generations.
• Promote peace, respect, and appreciation within the Hispanic Community.
• Promote peace, respect, and appreciation of Hispanic culture in the larger WNY community
• Educate ourselves and others in order to accomplish these goals 

Objetivos y prioridades comunes

• Preservar la historia de los hispanos en el oeste de NY para las generaciones futuras.
• Promover la paz, el respeto y aprecio dentro de la comunidad hispana.
• Promover la paz, el respeto y el aprecio de la cultura hispana en la comunidad del oeste de NY en general.
• Educarnos a nosotros mismos y a otros con el fin de lograr estos objetivos

Core Values:

• Collaboration - Collaborate to strengthen projects, maximize resources, and draw in new participants and strategic partners.
• Inspiration - Inspire Hispanic youth to understand and take pride in their heritage so that they may be upstanding local citizens and contribute to Western New York’s quality of life.
• Education- Work with schools and youth groups to incorporate the teaching of Hispanic culture within the Hispanic community and in the community at large.
• Leading by example - Reflect a positive and strong Hispanic/Latino cultural identity.
• Representation - Provide opportunities for non-Hispanic communities to appreciate and share our Hispanic heritage through programs, exhibits, performances, and other initiatives.
• Awareness - Highlight WNY’s Hispanic community, its values and its culture by disseminating information to the community-at-large.
• Future-focus - Secure a place for future generations and community to take a prominent place in the community of the future and learn about and take pride in their Hispanic history, heritage and culture.
• Character - Develop strong character by knowing about, caring about, and acting upon the core values of the Hispanic Heritage Council and working to unify and inspire all people.

• Colaboración - Colaborar para fortalecer los proyectos, maximizar los recursos y atraer a nuevos participantes y socios estratégicos.
• Inspiración - Inspirar a los jóvenes hispanos a entender y sentirse orgullosos de su herencia hispana para que así puedan ser ciudadanos honrados y contribuir a la calidad de vida del oeste de NY.
• Educación - Trabajar con escuelas y grupos juveniles para incorporar la enseñanza de la cultura hispana dentro de la comunidad hispana y en la comunidad en general.
• Predicar con el ejemplo - reflejar una fuerte y positiva identidad cultural Hispano/Latina.
• Representación - Brindar oportunidades para que las comunidades no hispanas puedan apreciar y compartir nuestra herencia hispana a través de programas, exposiciones, actuaciones, y otras iniciativas.
• Conciencia - Resaltar la comunidad hispana del Oeste de NY, sus valores y su cultura mediante la difusión de información a la comunidad en general.
• Enfoque Futuro - Asegurar un lugar para que la comunidad y las generaciones futuras puedan tomar un sitial prominente en las comunidades futuras y  además, aprender y enorgullecerse de su herencia, historia y cultura hispana.
• Carácter - Desarrollar carácter fuerte por conocer, preocuparse y actuar sobre los valores fundamentales del Consejo de la Hispanidad y de trabajo para unificar e inspirar a todas las personas.

Highlight WNY’s Hispanic community, its values and its culture through the community-wide celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept 15-Oct 15) and throughout the year
